Re: jambox static (and airplay)

Haviing exactly same problem as you guys....

1.Purchased my jambox blue version when I travel HongKong and cameback to SouthKorea and tried to use it.

2.Paired with my iphone4 and worked first when I disconnected power adapter.

3. When I charge, I cannot use the jambox and it worked again when i unpluged the power source.

4. Tried to update the software, so I did it.

5. After the update, bluetooth paired jambox doesn't work (Paired successfully, but only make static noise)

6. Tried to plug wired source and when i pluged 2/3 of the audio source, bluetooth paired jambox works fine

(opposite side of wire audio cable doesn't have any other connection)

7. works fine with wire sound cable

8. The problem is that I cannot get the replacement because Jawbone doesn't support international shippping and warranty of South Korea (We don't have official Jawbone seller)

9. I think I lost my 200 dollars..... :smileyhappy:

10. Considering about destroying the **bleep**box and buy creative's one....

Re: jambox static (and airplay)

UPDATE:

Contacted customer service (Justin) and to their credit, they were friendly and helpful. Replacement was sent out that works perfectly. Box and instructions were provided for return so problem has been resolved.

It's a bit of a pain but for those of you still experiencing problems, I can fully recommend contacting customer service.

Re: jambox static (and airplay)

This is exactly my problem... When I pull the hard wire cable almost all the way out I get momentary Bluethooth connectivity, but with the connector wire either all the way in, or out entirely... no blue tooth.

Re: jambox static (and airplay)

Oh, and when I call their support line, I only wait on hold for 10 minutes and then have to leave a message. This is fast becoming one of my worst purchases.

Re: jambox static (and airplay)

EXACT same problem.

Worked once.  Charged and updated.

Bluetooth not working.  AUX working.  Says connected...just static.  Wrote a support email...calling tomorrow.  Still no universal fix?  Returning very soon if they cannot solve this.  Expected more from this product.

Re: jambox static (and airplay)

**UPDATE**

After trying everything...spoke to a rep over the phone, and was prompted to just return it for another.  "Defective unit".  Haha, see you later Jambox.  Maybe when v2.0 comes out, I'll give it another go.  Not tricking me into spending $200 dollars on another chance that the next one might work, especially when this many people have problems with them.  Instead of making the consumer do your work for you, why don't you do what any reliable company would do and recall the products, fix them, and gain customer loyalty.

See you next year?

Re: jambox static (and airplay)

I have the same issue and do even when playing directly from my MacBook Air.. it works wonderfully for about an hour, sometimes less, then the static comes.. I have to stop the song. Restart jambox and then its fine again, even with the identical song.. whats up?

Re: jambox static (and airplay)

I FIXED MY JAMBOX.

backstory: bought my jambox at my local Apple Store. worked perfectly for about two months, until one day it would just output static whenever i try to airplay from my iPad. i tried all the troubleshooting, went through all the forums, and then finally called Jawbone Support for a replacement. waited a week, finally got my replacement Jambox in the mail, but they had sent me a grey one to replace my defective black one. called again, said that they had run out of stock for the black one, and that the only thing i could do is keep calling back until they had it in stock again.

i was pretty upset at this point. my new grey one didn't match the free black Jamchain i got. first world problem, i know, but i didn't pay $200 just for this kind of situation. so i just kept hard resetting my old black one until finally, i got bored and just stuck a mini phillips screwdriver into the aux port. INSTANTANEOUSLY it was brought back to life. i still don't know what the problem was, and i'm aware that doing this kind of thing is pretty risky, but hey, it worked. i've been toying around with my old black jambox for about an hour now and i can't get it to play static anymore. its like its brand new. looks like i'll be sending the grey one back.

TL;DR: sticking a small phillips screwdriver into the auxiliary port made airplay work again. don't ask me why.

Re: jambox static (and airplay)

this is my exact issue as well. it worked fine for the first two days, then... nothing. pairs fine. MAC and PC recognizes it plugged in. other than that, static and no music. can make phone calls and listen to voice mail. can only play music by using the cable or by bluetooth if I plug in the cable partly (WTF?).

sad panda.
