Bad popping during bluetooth playback

Just set up my new big jambox.  It plays and sounds great during wired playback, but via bluetooth there is some really bad popping, so bad it's prettymuch unusable.  The popping goes away if I use the wired plug. 

I'm on a MBP, OS X 10.7.4

More info:

• Popping happens no matter what what audio I was playing
• Stuff that pops via BT does not pop via wire
• I just attached my Android phone via BT:  no popping (sounds great)

This appears to be specific to Mac BT?

yep, the same here today with the little version. during playback and even when just turning up the volume on the mac... sometimes popps, sometimes the usual noise...

more annoying during playback though.. a bit like listening to old vinyl

Looking at your settings, I'd say you have it paired wrong. It says "headset", which would explain the crappy sound. With a Mac, you need to select the right output. There are two, one for stereo audio and one for handset. Check the output settings on your Mac System Preferences.

in the system prefs > output its saying Jambox by Jawbone Stereo /  Bluetooth Headphones.

Is this right or wrong? Sound is pretty iffy, intermittent and popping...
