I am using the era with 4s, and have a huge problem. Whenever I dial out using siri from my headset, the call dials, and then i can't hear any audio. If i switch to speakerphone, its fine, but then once i switch back to headset i lose audio again. If i dial using the phone like i normally would, the headset has no issues at all, its only when i voice dial from the headset that i have issues. This needs to be fixed.

Hi, i had same problem... with SIRI I can be able to dial out call, but it is impossible hear any audio.
After a lot of trying i understood that the a2dp protocol cause problem.
Well i have solved in this mode:
My Era have A2dp on
after i found a program on cydia (need Iphone jailbroken) Bluetooth Service Manager (bigboss utilities it's free) than i manged in the program and i disabiltated A2dp profile (on side Iphone).
Now I can hear call with Siri composition and then hean even alarm tones!!!
Sorry for my english.

Same problem with my iPhone 4. With A2DP on the Era enabled (which is the default, I believe), voice dialing works as expected. But then all alert and UI sounds are sent through the headset instead of coming from the phone's speaker.
Disable A2DP (in order to have these sounds come from the phone), and voice dialing results in no audio once the call starts.
This has been a known problem for over a year. It has been indicated that Jawbone is well aware of the issue and were supposedly working on a solution... yet none has been forthcoming. I do not believe this is an Apple problem... my Plantronics 975 (which does not have A2DP) handles voice dialing just fine.
I'm astounded that this problem has gone unfixed for so long, and it will make me think twice before purchasing a Jawbone product again.

I us my I phone for music and gps while in my car so why would I want to hear my music through the headset when I have a sterio in the car. This needs to be fixed. or at least posted to Iphone usesrs so thaey are aware of the issue that the ERA is not I-phone frendly.

Jawbone responded that the headset is not the issue, that because We are using I-phones it is our problem, Most of the support people are not aware of this and will send out a new headset, Which in my case they did, of course it had the same issue. I explained that I did not have the no voice dial issue with the Icon. I was told that I had to use the a2dp feature, when I tried to explained that I don't want to hear music through the headset while in the car and I want to hear the phone ring I was told that that is the way it works... The ERA is not I-Phone friendly and should be explained.. Why would anyone not want to hear their music through a mono ear piece when you have a car stereo system and it is a safety issue. I don't wear my headset 24/7. Keep it near so when the phone rings I can pick it up and use it. That is why they have the shake to answer calls feature.. I believe that we are getting the run around and Jawbone does not think it is an issue,, it will take more people with I-phones to make noise to get their attention.... So Speak Up and be Heard I-Phone Owners...

Having A2DP turned on is useless if you don't wear the Jawbone all the time...I do NOT want to walk around like all the folks I see that never take their earbud out of their ear. So, having all ringtones and alert tones only play to my earbud and not on my phone is stupid. I really think that Jawbone should work to solve this issue once and for all and stop claiming that A2DP needs to be turned on. It seems to me that it should be a fairly simple code fix.
