I've looked through the forums on this site and apple's and would like to find out if this issue is isolated to my headset or all ERA's paired with the iPhone 4S.
When in a regular phone call the sound quality is alright, not great, but alright (my generic Jabra from Verizon is just as good). But when I'm on a facetime call using my phone and home's WiFi, the sound quality is very subpar. It's disappointing that I spent the money I did on this headset and every other word out of my mouth is "what?". If others have the same headset and phone combination and aren't experiencing this issue then I will take mine back for an exchange and try another headset. Note that by subpar quality I mean that I have been hearing a popcorn sound every 20-30 minutes (lasts for about 30 seconds) and pretty much the whole conversation sounds like we are trying to speak through our shirts. My headset has been updated through the Jawbone website and I have seen the "soft reset" with mixed results (the ONE person that said it worked only mentioned that it stopped the static noise, nothing to do with a popcorn sound or muffled sounds I am experiencing). Thanks for any help/input anyone may have...
I, too, have had the same experience lately ... every since the latest update and after getting my iPhone4S. I just took it back to Best Buy and exchanged it, thinking something had gone wrong with the earpiece ... nope! The new one has the same sounds as the old one ... the same effects that you are hearing ... like I am talking through water, or something. People on the other end hear me fine, but I hear that noise and it is extremely annoying. Not sure what the problem is, but it would be nice to contact Jawbone and get an answer ... let me know if you hear anything ....
I have had the same issue. It is almost impossible to understand people on my Era using my iPhone 4S. I have exchanged the headsets 2 times, and was thinking it was my phone perhaps. However, I recently purchased a Plantrionics Go bluetooth stereo headset, and it works fine. I think that the voice quality on the iPhone 4S/Jawbone Era combintaiton actually got worse when I updated the Jawbone software. I hope that someone at Jawone is listening to these posts and is working on a fix. I loved my Jawbone Era, and the Icon, and the Prime. It would be a shame to have to give up on it becuase it is, at present, almost unusable. I cannot understand people speaking to me over it.
Hello, I am having the same issue of LOW QUALITY voice and sound for both parties when using Facetime on my Iphone 4/ Ipad IOS5.1.1.
It appears this issue has been around for some time. Is there a fix/ firmware update out yet?
I need assistance or any solution to fix this please.
Does anybody posting on here actually own one of these ? I am using 3 different ERA's in rotation the last year and a half with a custom molded earpiece putting a total of over 60,000 miles a year on my car and have logged well over 2000 hours on these devices with not one problem ! I am using a new S III now with over 200 hours on it with no problem from ERA . Try using Verizon CDMA / 4G LTE and you will find that either you are using the wrong Service or that your I phone is made for GSM and your phone isn't going to work worth a crap if you don't have a GSM provider , and then not very well . Go back to whatever you used before and quit whinning ! I am a self employed Manufacturers Rep . and NOT an employee of Jawbone .
