ERA FIND ANSWERS QUICKLY! |

Hi,
I have an iPhone 4 running 4.3.3 with a Jawbone ERA headset. When I receive a phone call, the headset plays my ringtone which is really annoying and I can barely hear my caller ID while the ringtone is playing. I seem to remember with an earlier jawbone that a discreet beep used to play rather than a ringtone and this would be preferrable.
Is there any way to disable the ringtone playing through the ERA?
Cheers,
John

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

I have the same issue. I was told by Tech Support to take it back and get another one. I don't see how that is going to help but I guess we will see.

I do wish I could hear my ring tones through my Icon headset paired with Atrix 4 G. I used to be able to hear them while paired with my old Razr v3xx . This is great for me as I had assigned particular ringtones for certains types of calls, and it alerted me better in noisy situations than just ringing from the handset which is on my hip. I've tried Motorola tech support but they don't seem to know anything about the products they sell.

It's odd because, when I get a call in the car, my previous iPhone 4 and now iPhone 4S didn't play the ringtone through the car's speakers.
But like you, with the ERA, the ringtone plays through the headset and I'd rather it didn't.
I have the latest software both on the iPhone 4S and the ERA at the type of this writing.
Jawbone staff, could you please chime in?

You didn't say as to whether your radio in the car was bluetooth. If this is the case, you could possibly unpair the radio from phone. Go into youir bluetooth settings on phone to check this out.![]()

Oh yeah, the connection in the car is via Bluetooth. When a call comes-in, the car would ring (with its own ringtone) while the iPhone 4 and now 4S would behave as if it weren't connected and vibrate + ring (that's how I have it set).
I would want the ERA to behave the same way: leave the ringtone to the phone and simply announce the caller etc. in my ear.

Mine is doing this, too. I am on an iPhone 4s, and when my phone rings it comes through the headset and also rings on the phone itself. I can't hear the caller ID under the ringtone. Not a deal breaker, but still. I also would like it to NOT ring on the phone when I have it paired and going to the headset.

On my Era I chose to turn off the caller ID, I can only story 20 numbers anyway in jawbones caller ID so what's the point. Besides the people who I receive most calls from I have on there own ringtones so I know who it is anyway. And my phone rings, vibrates, plus the ring gets sent to my headset. I like this.
