I just bought the Jawbone Era earlier today. Turned it on and paired it with my iPhone 4. However, there is no sound. So I connected it to my laptop to see if updating it might resolve the issue. Computer didn't even recognize it. I then tried the Jawbone Icon on my computer and it recognized it immediately. All the functions work fine on the Jawbone Era (answer/end call... tap tap... even the microphone works) but there's no sound from the speaker and it's not being recognized when connected to my computer.
Did I receive a faulty Jawbone Era? Is there any work around or do I just take it back and get it reordered?
I am facing exactly this issue. I have wrote to support center too.. waiting for reply.
I just unboxed my new JB ERA. It worked for frst few minutes but then I am not able to hear anything.. Found references over the net that resetting the device resolves such issue. But it does not help. I tried it several time. Nothing helped so far.
I can pair with my phone, see lights, it is even responding on everything, can even make calls. People at the other side can hear me but I hear NOTHING! no audio at all..
Please suggest if anyone faced this issue and could resolve it.

I am also having the same issue. I paired it up with my HTC TB and Verizon says it is compatible. I tried to use it and all of the functions on it work but no sound. I tried to test it out after updating the device and still no luck. i have looked all over the web for a fix and cant find one that works. I cant tell if it is an android issue or the jawbone. Im bummed. was looking forward to having a nice headset for once. Hopefully there will be a fix soon.
I just got my ERA and after charging it completely I updated software on website. I then paired it with my ipone4. All functions work, it can make calls, other party can hear me, but I get nothing out of speaker. I found several suggestions in other posts in this forum and tried them. I downloaded a different voice app. I did a reset on jawbone. I have paired and unpaired the jawbone with my ipone4 and also my laptop and also my ipad2. No sound. Has anyone found a solution?
Same issue for me - just took the era out of the box. Got my jawbone account going, put the new software on it, pairs fine with iPhone 4S, attempted to reset it twice. Every feature works except...absolutely no sound. No phone sound, no music sound, no nothing. If I call somebody else...they can hear me perfectly but I get nothing. How did others resolve this? Return? Exhcange? What should I do?
Has anyone been able to fix this problem? I just purchased the Era yesterday, got it today, and I can't get any sound throught the headset. All indications are that the headset is working properly, however there isn't any sound coming to the headset.

Update: I tried EVERYTHING to get my Jawbone Era working and nothing helped. It is clearly defective. I purchased the Era online at "all4cellular" (they have an unreal deal on this device) and when I called them Monday they express mailed me a new Era no questions asked. I just rec'd it today and opened the box and...works like a charm! No issues whatsoever. I'm very happy though I have not had a chance to test this thing in a real environment yet on calls. But, there are clearly defective Era's out there so if this happens to you, don't waste your time...just get back to your retailer and have it replaced. Good luck!
I've had this exact issue with two Era's now. The problem started after about a month with each of them. The reset worked fine at first, then just stopped working - so I took the Era back to Best Buy and got a replacement.
The second Era worked fine for about a month then started having the same problems. Reset worked for a little while - but now it won't work at all. I would love to see if someone out there has a fix for this. I love the Era - but only when it works! It does me no good if I cannot hear the person with whom I am speaking.
Anyone have an idea on how to solve the issue? I'm wondering if it is a true platform-wide glitch.
Wow, My issue included that no one could hear me either - but the call would go through - just no sound transmitted at either end when the Era was paired with my phone.
I decided to try voice dialing using the Era and held the talk button down - and whala! - the Era started working! Some of you might give that a try. I have no idea WHY it worked - I just know THAT it worked...
