I purchased an ERA headset on the weekend and attempted to install the MyTalk software on my Win7 work laptop. Unfortunately, the installation hung before it completed. The Jawbone MyTalk software appears to be functional - I can use the MyTalk web-page to customize my device and I have the Jawbone icon displayed - but the Jawbone menu is shown as (empty) and the program isn't listed in the Control Panel to allow me to remove it.
I have attempted to re-install the 1.7.0 update, but this doesn't appear to do anything.
I tried running the Microsoft Fixit (http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_
If your program was not listed on the previous page you can enter the Product Code here. For example: {9EEE2575-B66F-43F7-A455-7D419335C87E}
What can I do to fix this issue?
Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,
I'm using Win7 - IE9 and was able to load the site and manage my ERA today.
Perhaps your IE is locked down by your Corporate Group Policy Object.
Which menu are you missing - the main one on the mid-left that says Connected Device?
Which has Jawbone ERA - AudioApp - Dial App - ERA Software - Caller ID Settings - Advance Settings.
Have you tried adding http://mytalk.jawbone.com to your internet explorer trusted sites and setting the security level to default?
Regards
Y.

Unfortunatley, when I go to Start->All Programs->Jawbone it shows "(empty)" and nothing is there.
This is why I was looking for alternative methods to uninstall (and subsequently re-install) the application.
As I mentioned, everything appears to be working with the MyTalk web-site including the ability to change voices, apps, settings, etc., but I have no ability to remove or uninstall/re-install the program. My PC hasn't been locked-down by a corporate I.T. department - I've installed other programs/drivers before.
THanks again,
Mike

The "brute force" option worked great - everything is now installed properly.
Thanks for your help!

I have the same problem, and I have tried this trick numerous times. Still, every time I try to install the software, it crashes showing "Rescanning hardware" over the progress bar. Any tips?
