Sync'ed and updated software, but ERA will not work

ERA goes for HOURS saying, "Updating software, Jawbone will reboot after update"; left it in this state overnight for 8 hours, awoke to hear it still trying to update.

I'm now terrified this will happen to me. I've been trying to update the Era I JUST brought home from the store and it's sitting at 0% for the last 15 minutes after saying it'll take about 5 minutes....no progress on the progress bar. I used it on the way home and the sound quality for music is terrible but the packaging is really nice and hopefully it'll work better for calls.

Ok I'm doing this on a mac. Firefox and Chrome were a no go with updating my headset. I have numerous plugins including ones that block flash and popups on both browsers. I used Safari and it worked right away. If you're on a windows pc I'd recommend using Internet Explorer and trying that :-/

Hi fillinger990,

 

I'm sorry your Era is acting up! The message you're getting is normal if you're updating from an older version of the firmware to the latest version but it should go away and reboot after 60 seconds. Let's try resetting the device and see if that has any effect. To reset the Era follow these steps:

1. Plug the gray cable into the Era.

2. Hold down the Talk button and plug it into a power source (wall charger or computer USB).

3. Let go of the button.

 

Hopefully that will solve the issue but if the message persists give us a call at 1800-JAWBONE 6am-7pm PST and we can look into warranty replacement options.
