hi i bought a jawbone era <1month but the retailer i've bought it from in australia has gone bust. Wow sight and sound and i cannot return it.
the problem i'm having with it is that people on the other end of the phone call say that my voice fades in and out every few seconds and sometimes they can't hear me at all.i can hear them fine though.
i've got it paired to a samsung galaxy note, but i have also tried it with other phones eg samsung galaxy 2, sony xperia x1 and still have the same problem.
i have tried the soft reset option and even tried the hard reset option. no effect still the same problem.
i've rung the australian support number but no response. i've tried disconnecting, unpairing, repairing, rebooting phones but still the same problem.
i have updated the era to the latest software and that didn't solve the problem either.
all the other functions work fine eg streaming audio via a2dp work, jawbone companion, etc just that no one can hear me on a phone call !
help !

I had the very same problem and after trying and trying (others loved it so much...it had to be me, right?) I was about to give up today.
Basically, I figured it out after reading through these forums. The rubber thingy must touch your face at all times in order for the Noise assasin to work (and not drop your voice).
It is much easier for the jawbone to touch your face if you remove the ear ring. works liek a charm (Finally!!@!)

did some testing from what you said and it is much better.
people can actually hear me!
as i use the ear hook the rubber thingy does not always touch much face , so it is a bit annoying to hold the jawbone to touch the face.
thanks

did some further testing for another week and although it is better when the rubber thingy touches the face, people were still complaining that they couldn't hear me intermittently so i'm sending this era back for replacement.

it happened to me after 4 months from buying it, i keep trying to contact the support but all the types or reset failed.
The support team is have moved my case to UK support, but no reply and full ignorance from them.
looks that it is design issue and they are avoiding to admit it

I have been trying to get the jawbone era and iPhone 3 to work correctly for over 3 months. Multiple parties on the other end of my calls complain that my voice goes from perfect to sounding like I am in a tunnel. Also described as muffled or "in a cave" I have seen some references to noise cancellation software problems on discussions. Trying to hold the headset to maintain contact with my face as some have suggested is unreasonable. If Jawbone does not or can not acknowledge this problem and address it, people should NEVER buy Jawbone products. This is totally ridculous.

I too am having this problem. My colleague had the same also.
In the USA, there are ear pieces that are designed by these people that help support the Jawbone appropiately such that this Loss of Voice to others is overcome.
what is AMAZING is that you cant get this ear piece cover from EMEA.. its only found in the USA !!! Now isnt that clever !
