As many have said - PLEASE Jawbone give us back Firmware 1 as an option. My Icon was perfect, now it is an unreliable Piece.

Hi I have recently purchased an ICON hero, and out of the box and after pairing it up I have expierenced some problems with the product. I have singed up to the mytalk connected my ICON to the computer and ran the updates on it all before testing the product for functionaliy. I finaly made a phone call to test the product and to my surprise the party on the other line could barely here me, it was nothing more than a faint whisper. I have tried some troubleshooting, I have tried fully charging it, I have swaped back and fourth between the ICON and the regular phone microphone (Ihave a DroidX if that helps), the regular phone microphone is Significantly louder, I have an old cheap plantronics M125 bluetooth headset that i then checked after that to ensure that my phone and bluetooth connections were working properly and the old plantronics worked way better then my brand new ICON. I have also tried to turn off the noise assasin which didnt help any and also tried turning off the jawbone connection to the Jawbone companion which i have downloaded off the droid marketplace which also didnt help. Is there anything that could be done to help me correct this problem, I have seen in the Jawbone fourms that I am not the only consumer who has the same issue with thier ICON. I had previously bought my wife the Jawbone ICON catch which has worked great for her which is why I got one as well. I hope that this problem can be resolved so I can continue to spread word of Jawbone's great quality to other's so that they also may expierence a great product that Jawbone produces. Hello Jaimie,

 

As it has been proven, This problem everyone is having does not need troubleshooting. The solution lies in a fix to the firmware release which is messing up mine and everyone else's ICON's which we have spent hard earned money on, how has Jawbone not released a fix to this updae yet or atleast made the original software avaiable again for download as a temporary fix? Is there any Idea on when we can expect to see a solution in the near future?

Seem like Im not the only one. I dont use my jawbone anymore cause of this, but now I thought of giving another try..

 

Theres gone months and I logged in with the hope of a update for jawbone icon that fix this issue, but there isnt a new update.

Unfortunately I am in the same boat as the people here. Audio quality has detoriated to the point that the JB now is unusable. My counterparts all(!) complain that they can't hear me. Switching to the built in microphone in the phone has better quslity even in bad weather.

I think this is very frustrating and unacceptable for a device in this price range.

 

I want through all tips in this thread several times, but to no avail. I also tested against several phones without luck.

 

I also switched the audio app back to default. No luck theer either.

 

Please give me back my Jawbone quality, let me test with the old firmware or whatever!

In addition to the audio quality problems others have noted (i.e., it was lousy), my Icon disconnected frequently and at random.  Any time I got a call, there was a 50% chance that my Icon would be disconnected - which I wouldn't realize until I noticed I couldn't hear the other party.  Sometimes I noticed before answering that the Icon was no longer connected - in which case calls would go to voicemail while I was waiting for it to connect.

 

I returned my Icon for a refund over the weekend.  I just don't have time to mess around with stuff that doesn't work.

 

I wish I still had my Jawbone 2.  The audio quality and ability to stay connected were excellent.  It wasn't a buggy piece of junk like the Icon.

Rubbish guys! I just invested $130 in a handsfree kit that doesn't perform the most fundamental of functions - allow me to talk to other people!!People tell me I sound like darth vader one minute or in a tunnel the next and from this forum is telling me it's due to a firmware update that's been applied by Jawbone and as yet, months later, unrepaired. Shameful.

 

I'm still gasping as I read this blog, which extends back months, and Jawbone still have not updated the firmware to fix the problem that they created in the first place. I would have my team working day and night to get this fixed - pizza's and coke supplied until it's done - nobody goes home. It's not that hard. Something must be done and quickly because if it's not... although I'm just one customer this will stay up forever and in this day and age when anyone can search for background on a item before buying it, why would the 1000's of eyes that read this in time ever bother considering risking a Jawbone investment - I know I won't - I can bet you won't either!

Mine is so bad I have had to purchase another brand. I have 2 thinkers and they both have echo to the caller. My son has one also and his is doing the same thing.

I have reset them back to factory. Did hard resets which they suggested and no good. I guess they just want you to buy another $100+++ one to keep going. 

I am very disappointed with Jawbone...I think they should last longer than 3 months....My quality is great but the person on the other end complains about echoing and can't hear you....Then it starts dropping every 3rd word........

I would not recommend this to anyone................JB  fix your stuff.....or refund my money! Send me a new one that works!!!
