HTC Evo 4G

I just got my HTC Evo4G on June 4 and have it paired with the Jawbone Icon. It works pretty good I can listen to music through my jawbone, videos I have recorded I can hear through my Jawbone, Movies I put on there comes through on it when i get a text message the notifacationn sound comes through when I use the keypad to type the noise comes through the Jawbone, Sprint navigation comes through I can hear turn by turn directions Sprint Tv works on Jawbone, and some games i play I can hear on the Jawbone. The only thing it needs now is to be able to play my contacts ringtone through it when someone calls. The only problem I have is that the volume is still low even with everything turned up on high but all in all Jawbone Icon paired with HTC Evo 4G goo combination in my book.

Re: HTC Evo 4G

If you haven't already figured it out, you need to use MyTalk to change the default software on your ICON to A2DP.

For us HTC EVO people, look forward to an update to Android 2.2 (aka-Froyo), which will enable voice dialing over BT devices (among other goodies).

Re: HTC Evo 4G

The FROYO bluetooth voice dialing is nice, but the Icon seems to lose the ability to activate voice dialing after a period of time. I find that I need regularly turn the icon off/on to get it to work. Not sure if this is an EVO thing or an ICON thing.

Re: HTC Evo 4G

I just got my EVO 4G a week ago and my Icon.  The phone came with Android 2.2 already installed. Every voice call I have tried to makewith the Icon was the wrong person.  I never had a problem with my old Plantronics 220. This is just terrible, I am somewhat restricted andneed voice dialing desperately. When it get the wrong contact it does not ask for verification before dialing, it's just terrible.   I'll give IT onemore week and then I'm returning it. Too much money for a DUD!!!!

Re: HTC Evo 4G

Is there a fix for this issue? I just received my Icon and the voice dialer dials the wrong number 80% of the time.

Re: HTC Evo 4G

I can't seem to get my ICON to pair with the EVO 4 G I just bought a few weeks ago. Is there a secret to connect the 2? I have enabled bluetooth on the EVO as well as scanned for devices on the phone and still the 2 can't seem to find each other.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Re: HTC Evo 4G

The Jawbone needs to be in pairing mode, indicated by an alternating red and white light.  If your Jawbone is in pairing mode, flashing red/white/red/white, then it's up to the second device to "find" the headset.  If the phone is not detecting the Jawbone try resetting the phone.  Generally this can be done by removing the phone's battery for about 30 seconds.

To put the ICON into pairing mode start with the headset powered OFF.  Then, PRESS + HOLD the TALK button as you power the headset ON.  The LED light should start flashing red/white/red/white.

Hope this helps!
