I'm glad to see that this group is right on top of this. I agree with sgravel; if the new Icon HD + Nerd (ugh, terrible name) has true AVRCP support, I will order one today.

And right there on page 26 of the manual (thank you sgravel for the link), under ICON HD CHEAT SHEET:

PAUSE MEDIA*    Press TALK Button

 

(the * indicates "not during a call", which makes sense)

Just to add further confirmation, I posted this question on the Jawbone Facebook page, and received this reply:

 

"... ICON HD will pause the media streaming from your phone, but will not pause media playing on your computer at the moment." 

 

All good news. Now if only they responded as quickly to questions in their own forum.

Got my HD today - so far, so good.  Maybe I will get better with practice, but I keep calling people on redial (double tap) instead of hitting play (triple tap) because I am not fast enough on the talk button.  It senses enough of a pause after the second tap to think it should redial, I guess.

 

It would be cool if there was a way to turn off redial via MyTalk or to adjust the wait time between taps before the HD assumes you are done.

 

Other than that, very pleased, and glad to finally have this.

I just got a Jawbone Icon from Costco yesterday.  I cannot see any indication as to what model it is, but since it doesn't say "HD" on the package I assume it is not an HD.  Accordingly, the triple tap method mentioned above doesn't work.  

 

Is there any hope that my Icon can be updated so that a pause function works?

It's really this simple. Send us an update to introduce pause/play. We'll tell our friends and family and co-workers how great your product is and brag about it all day long. Our next purchases will be Jawbones. We'll buy them as gifts.

 

Don't do it and our recommendations will be "it's nice EXCEPT for this one obvious and oddly missing feature which pretty much ruins it" and Jawbone will leave a bad taste in our mouths for years.

 

We've been patiently waiting for this for years.
