Is it normal? Icon headset mic would get activated when taking call from handset

Icon headset microphone gets activated too, everytime call is made or recieved from handset(phone) and sound is almost in-audible to other person. There are times when headset is left on but I am not wearing it and i would obviously reach for the phone instead trying to wear the headset. As soon as I press talk on the phone the bluetooth mic gets activated and probably noise-assasin works against you to suppress your voice on the call and person on other line can't hear anything clearly. 

Bit annoying to remember to turn icon off when not wearing. Jawbone should implement elegant solution for it. 

Anyone knows better solution?

This sounds normal to me.  Every bluetooth headset I've ever owned acts the same way.  The phone certainly isn't going to know if you have your headset on your ear or not, nor the headset itself.  If your headset is on and connected to your phone, that's where it'll sent the sound/calls.

I guess if they implemented a sensor to see if the headset is touching your cheek or something maybe like some cell phone sensors do to turn off the screen.
