problems connecting a jawbone icon to a blackberry 8520

Hi

I am having problems connecting a jawbone icon to my blackberry 8520.

When I pair them, the phone finds the headset, and tries to connect.

In the headset I hear 'jawbone connected'

the phone displays 'pairing complete connect to jawbone icon?'

I select yes

I get the message waiting for jawbone icon on the phone

But then get the message

'connection to jawbone icon failed'

I have updated the icon software and also reset both the phone and the headset.

I have successfully connected the headset to an android phone and it seems to work fine.

Any help would be appreciated

thanks

Response received from jawbone support;

"it should work . I have no further suggestions to completing the bluetooth pairing".

I am sure it will make a nice desktop ornament instead

Will have to buy another brand headset that actually does work..

Re: problems connecting a jawbone icon to a blackberry 8520

I'm far from an expert, and am having my own problems with my Icon, but have you tried to reset the Icon? Here's the instructions I received:

To reset the Jawbone ICON or ICON HD:

  1. Hold down the TALK button.
  2. Plug the headset on to the charger or USB port.
  3. When you see the red LED flash, release the TALK button.
  4. Remove the headset from the charger and power ON normally

I know there's also a "hard" reset, but don't remember the instructions for that.

Thanks for the troubleshooting help randj1! If the soft reset did not help with your connection problems, the instructions for the factory reset can be found here.

Switch on the icon with the talk button pressed, the led light will blink red and white, means the icon is in pairing mode. Worked with my black berry torch. Also i did install the battery meter, works like a dream

Re: problems connecting a jawbone icon to a blackberry 8520

Hi douglasf,

Please try the following steps:

1. Go into Bluetooth settings, highlight the ICON and then go into Options and select Delete or Remove.
2. Pull the battery out of the back of the phone and then put it back in and boot the phone back up.
3. Put the Icon into pairing mode and then go back into the Bluetooth settings and add it again.

Hope this helps! Thanks for your patience.

Re: problems connecting a jawbone icon to a blackberry 8520

Hi

Thanks for your response. I had given up on the headset.

I have tried the steps you suggested a number of times, but still no luck.

I still get the same ...  Connection to jawbone icon failed ... message.

I am having the same issue.  I can pair but received the following message "Connection to Jawbone Icon failed"  I have performed all of the above with no success.  Any other suggestions?
