Big Jambox Pairing Button stopped working

Hey everyone,

So I have been a big fan of jawbone for a long time, but as of recently purchasing the Big Jambox and other products (UP) I have been pretty disappointed.

I just purchased the product in the store yesterday, and the demo Big Jambox wouldn't seem to connect after attempting to pair via bluetooth... which was fine I figured hundreds of people a week are problably poking around at it and problably jammed some button in.

Well after coming home yesterday and having it immediately pair with my device easily (which was nice), I paired it to my sisters device so she could listen to it by holding the pairing button.  Ever since I held it in that one time it doesn't seem to respond now at all and from looking at the forums it seems like I am not the only one having this issue with it.  The pairing button itself does seem kind of sensitive.

I am not so much concerned about having that particular button to pair if there is another intuitive way to get it to pair, because the main reason I dropped $300 on it was because of the portability and convienance factor of it.  I love the sound and especially the size, but it is not by any means a NEED for me to have. 

If anyone has any further insight please reach out as I hate to return this product for a competitors.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having a pairing issue with your BIG JAMBOX. I suggest that you contact our support team since the BIG JAMBOX is not able to pair without the pairing button. They will be able to quickly send you a replacement!

I appreciate you reaching out, but I already gave the customer service a call... they seemed to be very helpful and empathetic for my situation and offered to issue me an additional jambox.  But from what reading what others have to say, I think I am on borderline to just return it all together.  I mean the pairing button is just way to fragile and I would hate to have to send off everything when I or even someone else wants to put on their music.  And doing a factory reset (which eventually puts in pairing mode) everytime I wanna pair I dont think is the most optimal way for me to use the device.

If you have any further advice on what to do or if maybe jawbone is going to do something about this button, as I really do think someone in the engineering of this product over looked critical design flaw of pairing.

my user name speaks for itself. Why on earth was would some go against defy the logic and intutition so blatantly and create a pairing button that cannot be reset successfully/reliabily with any human digit in existence?

And I mean are you certain you have product design engineers ? Did you outsource them from a parallel universe a where everything is 1/100 the size and made from discount liquid silicone rubber compounds? Drug test everyone who is at least tangentially repsonsible for this catastrophic failure. That, or admit that you have found miniature, exploitable labor forces/intelligent life in the cosmos and have them own up for omitting the scaling factor in their order slip at the injection molder.

How this managed to breeze through your product testing phase is doubly bewildering. And the worst part about it is that it the idea of a remote pairing mode reset procedure--which even the stupidest deadbeats in possesion of a bluetooth mp3 device would be able to brainstorm at a focus group. Did it not occur to you that perhaps Jambox owners might be in that really really small part of the population, you know, the sliver that has contact with people with similar Bluetooth mp3 devices.And frankly having to get off the couch to do things these days is basically grounds for a class action consumer product suit seeking big monerary reparations?

The prosectution rests. I want an answer from someone who's going to rectify my personal situation like any half-decent company. Beacuse right now I have a crap $300 post-modern window art.
