i just bought a jambox over the weekend and am having this same problem. i just want to confirm that this issue for the ipad 2 randomly dropping sound has been fixed in a recent update before i consider returning the jambox. i have also been reading that the latest jambox firmware is pretty terrible so i don't want to update the speaker until they fix the low volume problem.
has this issue been fixed for the ipad 2?

I justed wanted to voice that I am having the same problem.
With both and Iphone 4, and an original Ipad. Quite annoying.

have you updated to the latest firmware? i'm not suggesting that you do so just asking if you have.

@ WDFLY - Yes, I updated the firmware and it still disconnects. Unfortunately now I have 2 issues. The disconnections, and now it it unusably quiet. :-(

that's disheartening,
i really love the jambox but i want to use it with my ipad more than my iphone. i don't have the disconnect issue with my iphone but my ipad drops fairly often. i had another BT speaker from another company and it did it with that one too so it may be an issue with the ipad 2 so hopefully there will be a firmware update for one or both that will fix the problem.

you said you have the same disconnect issue with your iphone, which one do you have (ATT / verizon) and what iOS do you have on it.

i have the same phone, mine is running iOS 4.2.10, you might want to install the latest iOS and see if that solves your issue with the iphone.

i've done some testing and had determined that the ipad 2 and i assume the iphone 4 (i have not tested the iphone 4) only drops bluetooth connection to the jambox when the wifi radio is enabled AND connected to a 2.4ghz wifi network. i've been watching netflix on my ipad 2 this morning for 2 hours now without it dropping audio, i have my ipad connected to my 5ghz network instead of the 2.4 ghz. when i connect it to my 2.4ghz network it drops randomly.
i believe this is more of an apple problem than a aliph problem. it seems the iphone and ipad have issues using the same radio for both wifi and bluetooth.
