This issue was raised 5 months ago, and there's still no fix.
I can't fathom why Jawbone thinks my neighbors need to be informed that I've turned my speakers on or off.
Even a "Quiet" audio "app" would suffice. If there's a better place to lodge this request so that action is taken, please point us to it.
Returning this product just because it is hardwired to make loud noise at startup and shutdown. Please make this noise level configurable and I will consider repurchasing the jambox.
Another bump for this feature request - love this Jambox, but **please** update the firmware so we can have quiet power-on/off and other audio notifications.
There should be an option to turn off all sounds, otherwise this is very awkward to use, especially late at night. I leave my volume at max, but that's a poor way to be forced to intereact with a product.
+1 to this request. I love the Jambox so far, except for the ridiculously loud system sounds. It's so loud that the beep at the beginning sounds distorted through the speaker, driving me nuts!
Moderator Jawbone Emma where are you? You came into this conversation 7-months ago with one posting and have gone completely-silent ever-since. This is a plea for the Moderator to step back into this conversation and tell us what’s going-on!
I purchased my Jambox a week ago and have the same complaint as everyone else here – the thing is too loud at start-up, pairing, and shut-down.
If this many people have sought-out this forum and made these comments – how many people do you think are dissatisfied with your product and have not spoken-out? You shouldlisten to us – your customers – and give us a way to silence the box completely. It’s our box, we paid for it, and we should be able to decide what noise comes out of it – NOT YOU!
You’ve brought a great little box to market and now it’s time for you to let go. Let us, your paying customers decide what we want to hear and what we want to disable.
One last thing, where have you been? Why haven’t you been paying attention to your customers? It’s time to step-up, tell us when you’re going to give us a software update, and you really need to do it NOW! I bought my box from Amazon and they have a
great return policy – it’s not too late for me to send my box back for a full refund and I’m not against returning it in protest of your lack of concern for your paying customers.

I also would love to see the possibility to adjust the volume of the start-up...etc voice....
Maybe you could use the advanced settings to adjust the volume of these voices...?
