I've been using it with a wired connection to the headphone output and decided to try the bluetooth mode to give myself a bit more freedom to move around the house with streaming mlb.com baseball audio and rhapsody music. I have no particular technical proficiency whatsoever. Turned the jambox on, it said it wanted to pair, I searched for it by clicking the bluetooth icon in the desktop tray, and within about 45 seconds, the device appeared in my list of bluetooth devices, the driver self-installed, and the audio fired up on the jambox.
So what am I missing here? I don't see why all this opprobrium has been heaped on jambox. The darned thing apparently has been carefully designed to be easy to use, even for an idiot like me, and it works just fine with minimum effort. Apparently there are some out there even more clueless than I, for whom the device will not work, not matter how easy to use. Apparently the same folks are far more willing to blame others for their difficulties and far less willing to actually addres their issue. They complain for the sake of complaining.
If you can't bother to make a phone call to figure out why your device doesn't work, don't blame anyone but yourself for your problem. What's with that? "I want help, I don't want to take the time to obtain the help, but I have plenty of time to bitch about my problems." Well, then there's nothing to be done. Return your device and move on with your life. But if you can't spare the time and energy to allow the manufacturer to address your issue, then don't blame the manufacturer and its customer support crew.
I don't think these folks are more clueless than you are are. They have different systems. I'm glad it worked for you with minimal effort.
FWIW, I have the same issue as the above folks, did EXACTLY what you did, several times, and it doesn't work.
It'll pair with no problem, but doesn't show up on the list of available audio devices, nor is there any way to "connect" it via the bluetooth settings. Every other blutooth device I've ever used with this PC has worked flawlessly, btw.
It goes through the missing driver update rigamarole, which, of course, does nothing, and prompts me to visit the manufacturer's website to get them.
Calling the service number now......

Have read through Mac Forums and Jawbone's.
Issues are well documented and occurr just as described. I have both PC and Mac.
I called Jawbone per suggestion on these forums. They suggest contacting Apple. Even worse, they indicated that out of the millions of users only a few hundred were having problems.
For those who have purchased already - please continue to post results. For those who haven't purchased, roll the dice. This issues exist, more so with computers than pairing with phones.

Howdy Everyone!
Not sure the bickering above is very useful but the issues is basically this:
Bluetooth with a device such as this relies on a few things. None of which really rely on any driver specific to a Jambox.
Bluetooth is a standards based wireless communication protocol which does not require a driver. Just like you don't need drivers to connect to "different" wireless routers. All routers use a 802.11 and therefore your computer uses 802.11 and just connects. However there is need for a driver when it comes to your bluetooth on your laptop.
Your laptop has to know how to "speak" to your bluetooth antenna inside the pc...that is where the driver comes in. I love diagrams...so I apologize in advance.
Computer---->driver<----Bluetooth Controller/Antenna ))))))))))((((((((((( Jambox
the driver above will be specific to the type of bluetooth device your computer manufacturer decides to use (i.e. broadcom, intel, etc.) If you let windows install its default bluetooth driver it may or may not work depending on the aforementioned brand. What I would recommend is identifying the manufacturer of your computer...then go to the website that offers bluetooth driver downloads for your specific model of computer.
the ))(( is the bluetooth wireless signal which is INDEPENDANT of drivers. In short this is why it isn't Jambox's responsibility nor are they even feasibly capable of ffering support for the driver aspect. They are going above by stating they will talk users finding the appropriate driver for their device. This is most likely done bya support person who is just googling your device for you and finding you the appropriate driver to download.
I downloaded the Lenovo bluetooth drivers and i had it up and running in no time. I am not a novice however and I am most likely much better at this stuff than most of you so I would reccomend calling Jambox to have them assist you.

Anybody figure this out yet? I have a dell Studio 1747 laptop with a Rocketfish micro-USB adapter(Model: RF-MRBTAD) running Windows 7 64 bit. When I try to pair the jambox with my PC it says jambox paired but it doesn't download the proper drivers to enable it to work properly. It shows up in device manager as "bluetooth peripheral driver" but when I try to update the drivers it searches the internet and none are found. On top of this I downloaded the broadcom drivers that it recommends on the rocketfish website but after it detects the device when it starts to verify the installation software crashes every bloody time. Any help to get this working would be very much appreciated.

This might help some people out. It worked for me anyways. Download and install the drivers from this link:
http://forums.techarena.in/windows-x64-edition/124
It installed successfully and I finally got sound from my laptop to come out of the jambox. Doesn`t sound very good though, really scratchy but its a start![]()

This is NOT Jawbone problem! It's the bluetooth drive for your PC that you need to find!

I liked the Jambox size and portability. I bought it to use with my PC for customer presentations. I travel a lot and need to save space. The fact that it should connect via Bluetooth meant no wires. A bonus feature is that I can also connect it to my iPad and iPhone. Unfortunately I have the same problem as many of the good folks here in that Jambox will not work with my PC via bluetooth. Both Jambox and my PC indicate that I’m connected but there is no sound. I've been trying for three days to fix the problem. I’ve tried to download various drivers and none of them do any better. I’ve updated my Windows service pack and all drivers. I downloaded and installed the latest Broadcom Bluetooth driver. Nothing works. I’ve tried to sync via MyTalk (thinking that might help) but MyTalk won’t sync either. I have received Zero help from Jawbone support. They obviously don’t care that their product doesn’t work as advertised and in fact are blaming me for being too stupid to figure it out. After several days of frustration I was finally able to fix the problem. I TOOK IT BACK and told all my friends and colleagues that it was a nice try by Jawbone but don’t waste your time and money because it doesn’t work and Jawbone doesn’t care. Look guys, there are plenty of other solutions out there at less than half the price that work just fine. Logitech Wireless Speaker Z515 comes with its own Bluetooth mini dongle and it connects effortlessly. The sound is equal to or better than the Jambox and it was only $60. So you can put $140 back in your wallet, everything will work perfect and you can enjoy the rest of your weekend stress free… THANKS LOGITECH! If you need more functionality than the Z515, you can get the Soundmatters foxLv2 for about $160 . This is a nice unit that also connects effortlessly and sounds just as good if not better than Jambox. Cnet Reviews rated the Z515 very high. My advice to Jawbone….get your act together and quit blaming your customer. We don’t have time to do R&D for you.

You rated the Logitech Z515 as better then the JamBox just because you can't figue how to connect by bluethooth and blame MySpeak also because you can't sync up? Hello! It's NOT Jawbone problem, and you know why it's not their fault? IT IS A MICROSOFT WINDOW setting and drive issue! Anyhow have fun with your 60dollars speaker and lets see how long your 60 dollars speaker will last, also if you do not know, Jambox use the same speaker system as the FoxL. I have both and I have no issue with both of them.

Hi,
I did everything you said: updated all the Windows 7 Ultimate updates and bluetooth drivers twice. I still can NOT play the Jambox through my PC. I am able to pair but the "music" does not play.
I called and spoke to the "MyTalk" folks and they were no help asking me to check with the manufacturer, DELL?. DELL helped me realize that all me drivers were updated. WIndows assured me all my OS was updated.
What am I to do next? I have a DELL XPS M1530 laptop which runs Windows 7 Ultimate. All software and drivers are completly updated. Still no music.
Please help me. This was a birthday gift from my kids to me. Remember word of mouth is either your best OR worst advertising. HELP!
