Having the same issues with my MacbookAir. Static sound once connected, multiple disconnections after short periods of time...
What is going on? Why can't they reproduce this problems at Jambox at give an official update instead of contacting the users one by one?

Hi all,
I bought my jambox as a birthday present to myself on January 16 after I saw it being used by my stepson. I thought it was the coolest thing! He was using it with his iPhone and I thought it would be perfect for using with my new MacBookPro at my office. Then the next day my house caught on fire and I have been a bit preoccupied with that.
I had no problem pairing with my iPhone or my iPad. Worked great and I was a happy camper. However, when I tried to pair with my new MacBookPro (with Lion preinstalled), it would not work. I would get the "Jambox paired" confirmation voice, but in the bluetooth preferences it would not show it connected. And I could not get it to play anything from iTunes. When I hit play in iTunes, it would do nothing.
I called customer service and got no where. Nothing we tried worked. Then I found this forum when I searched the internet for this problem, and tried what arjunpr3 suggested to no avail. And, even though darickster said his procedures worked for him, I thought it was ridiculous that I had to reset all this to just get the darn thing to work on my Mac. And to have to do it 5 times a day is unacceptable!
Of course it's been over 30 days since I bought the device, so now I have a $200 paperweight! I really don't need this frustration on top of everything else. Please, will somebody from Jambox or Apple get their stuff together and fix this!!!!!
Or does anyone else out there have a fix for this???? It can't be that hard!!!

Just want to set things straight, i did have my deal of frustrations with the device, and it still has its quirks, but its working effortlessly and has so for more than a week. No pairing needed.
Skype usually makes the whole device unuseable afterwards as it doesnt use the jambox as output so changes it.
I have tinkered with it a lot just there are three district differences in errors people are having and i had all three.
error 1: it pairs but doesnt connect (the bt icon says it has thoughput but nothing can be heard)
error 2: (more common): it connects and throws you an error panel (which could be apple related as the timeout for the error is way too short)
error 3: it doesnt pair, it (mac) just sits there and doesnt make an effort to connect (bt icon without dashes line)
1 is related to sound output settings on the mac, check that in the bt menu (changing input generally triggers error 2), or in some cases you still having the mini jack connected (happened here)
2 usually unpair and re-pair does the trick
3 (sounds like you have that one) is a major pain in the ... do all the things i wrote about earlier to get rid of it, it just means the bt audio agent isnt triggered.
I dont think Apple is making an effort, as they are gearing towards the next release of mac os..

Wow! If I'd read all of this befoe I'd never have bought the devise. The advice to all Mac users should be DO NOT BUY IT !! Total waste of money. You should be ashamed.

Odd. I had not used my Jawbone Jambox in a while, and th elast tiume I used it was paired to an iPhone. I thought I'd unpair and pair it with my iMac to have music while I worked in the back yard. The iMac was running 10.7.3 (11D50b). The iMac seems topair and recognize the devoice and egts allthe right capabilities, but no sound from the Jambox.
If I un- and re-pair to an iPad, it all works. And there is a one big difference: when I perform this with the iPad, the Jambox voice confirms the pairing. I didn't remember to expect that when pairing on MacOS, so I had not missed it. But it's true: the Jambox never voice-confirms a pairing with my iMac.
I'll go look for any firmware updates for my Jambox -- never have updated it, perhaps it's juststale?

Well, there was an update waiting for my Jambox, and it did fix the Jambox not confirming a pairing. But even after having it confirm a pairing, I still cannot get it to play audio from my iMac. It continues to work well with my iPad, so.. not sure where to go next.

You complaining hipster idiots annoy me. You sure put forth a lot of effort in crying and whining but no real effort in trying to think outside the box. It's obvious that Lion is the cause of the problem here, not the Jambox. So me, being an insightful thinker, decided to use that new Web site called Google. I did a thing called search for "Lion bluetooth issues'". And guess what I came across: a fix! Since I'm tired of reading the stupid complaints in this thread from a bunch of dummies, I will be nice and post the fix in VERY SIMPLE TERMS. Of course, if you can't follow simple directions, don't try this fix because you will break your precious little Mac if you type the wrong thing (and with this crowd I wouldn't be shocked):
1) Open Terminal
2) Run the following commands ONE AT A TIME! COPY AND PASTE IF NEEDED!
sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/*
sudo rm -rf /Library/Caches/*
sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Caches/*
sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth*
sudo su --
cd /var/root/Library/Preferences/
mv blued.plist blued.plist.BAK

Thank you, I've never been called hipster before (idiot, yes!). Weirdly, last night, my blutooth suddenly worked for no apparent reason. But I'll keep the explanation below just in case it fails again. Thanks for that.

fixernation:
First of all, doesn't work.
Second of all, Hardly Simple.
The whole idea here is that it should smoothly connect and disconnect as I please. The fact that I have to uninstlal the Jambox completely, reboot, and reconfigure, every time I want to use it is absurd for a $200 little speaker. This is a glorified doorstop until this is fixed.

FYI, It is working again, and I'll report back on if it is permanent or not.
I removed the Mac from the Jambox via Mytalk.
Then I removed the Jambox from the list of available devices on the macbook.
Then I followed the instructions above.
shut down, restarted, repaired, and it is working for nw...
