JAMBOX FIND ANSWERS QUICKLY! |

This is an easily feasible trick that would empower greatly the jambox.
The Jambox has only three buttons: O, + and -.
O is for answering calls and status, and +, - are volume controls.
Yet one thing is clearly missing. Ability to pause, play and jump to next and previous music.
When you are listening to music you normally want the jambox to take control of those actions. Why? Because Jambox is easy to locate at any moment (it is the one that is sounding) while the phone or computer is normally harder (if you want to jump over a song, you don't want to enter into itunes to do it. Do you?
That is why all Bluetooth devices have PLAY/PAUSE, NEXT and BACK buttons. and someone cleverly enough added those commands into the protocol.
So, is it solvable? IT IS!!!
You can simply use a double key combination, easy to remember, to create this ability:
O and + together: Jumps to the next song.
O and - together:Jumps back.
+ and - together: Pause playing and resume.
Easy, intuitive and clean. And very easy to integrate too, as long as double key is used somewhere else into the device and A2DP controls are well known.
JawBone: Do it, please. Users: kudos this so it jumps up and they see it.

I agree Re: PLAY/PAUSE, NEXT and BACK buttons. Easily feasible in next firmware update.

I'm with you - would love to see this implemented. Then I can leave my iPad plugged in somewhere and walk around the house with the Jambox... no need to carry the audio source as well....

I've had my ICON for over a year now & it is great except for the 1 thing everyone is asking for pause/play functionality. One of the main advantages that Aliph touts is that the headset are upgradeable yet they continue to ignore this feature. I've thought for a long time now that it must just be because there is some technical issue with the headset to prevent this while wondering if they just couldn't (update) program the "talk" button to use multiple presses to enable this functionality. But nothing ever came out.
Now I'm seeing that the new ICON+ has pause/play enabled & aside from any electronic upgrade to the product it merely uses multiple presses to enable pause/play, which appears to be a simple software solution.
Myself & many others have posted to Aliph over a year ago to enable this feature on the other headsets. And with this new product it certainly seems possible to enable it on the other headsets. Please implement this for the other headsets now. Or at least someone from the company should reply as to why they cannot.
Otherwise this is just a cheap ploy for Aliph to force people to upgrade to another product just to get a modest increase in functionality.
Aliph sent me a survey a couple of months ago asking how they could improve their service. One of the things I put down is that they never address their users issues & do not grow the functionality of their product lines even when that's how they advertise their products. It's disappointing to see that despite what I would assume would be uniform & wide feedback (based of the forums) through this survey that Aliph continues to use the same delinquent company response practices despite specifically asking for such information from it's users.
Jawbone is a great product. But Aliph's company practices toward their current customers makes me want to switch to another companies product line. If Aliph were to upgrade their current product line with the features people want, then I would definitely consider buying the latest or next product based on increased performance in hardware. But as it stands now, why would I continue to buy from a company that ignores it's customers wishes.

i second the wish for next, previous and stop/play. O together with + or - makes really sense for skipping tracks, but +/- at the same time has already been reserved for liveaudio with the latest update. i still hope someone at aliph could have look at this. although i am not sure if the hardware inside the jambox is really able of AVRCP profile at all.

I am with you guys. I would expect that there with all this app and advanced setting mumbo jumbo that jawbone advertises, that the jambox cannot control play / pause and skip tracks is really unacceptable.
I am a proud owner of just about every jawbone bluetooth headset since the first one came out. After paying full price for a jambox, I am stunned that this feature is not available. Let's hope they read these forums and come up with some sort of solution.

Great idea! Thanks for the suggestions. We will be sure to share them with the team.

I would think since +/- is already used for live Audio, the next obvious choice for Pause/Resume would be all 3 buttons O + -
I too would love to have O + be Skip Fwd, O - Skip Back, and O + - be Pause/Resume.
Thanks
Charles.
