Contacted official support. They asked to do typical troubleshooting steps:
re-install Bluetooth drivers
soft reset Jambox
hard reset Jambox
None helped of course. So they suggested to replace unit if purchased from official seller within 1 year. Or have 25% discount on buying new one.
Since I bought my device from eBay and I'm actually now based in Russia, no chance for me to replace unit.
And it's so frustrating such promising device appeared to be breaking with no reason! And no visible attempts to re-write firmware with fixes from Jawbone. Urgh!

"November"...had you updated to the 2.1 updater software? If you have, did the problems occur just after you upgraded? Because it makes no sense that some people would have no volume issues if they have upgraded and others major problems if they have? Also, if you did upgrade, a simple solution is an upgrade to the software to 2.1.1 to fix whatever bug is causing this....thanks for reply. Any reply from Jawbone would also be appreciated, is a new firmware version coming out soon?

I'm on latest firmware and issue is there. I don't think there is choice to roll-back to see if it's new firmware bug or something "burnt" in Jambox.

same problem as everyone else. Why is Jawbone not responding to the threads. Mine worked fine until I updated it. What to do. I was getting to buy my son one but reconsidering.

Having the same issue too. The volume on the Jambox is so low even when my Laptop volume is already raised to the max.
If my laptop volume is raised to the max, there will be distortion.
Please resolve this quickly.

Yep... same here. I wish I didn't update this thing. My phone plays at a louder volume than this thing. I want to love the Jambox, but Jawbone is making it very difficult with their lack of proper updates and response to this issue.

hello good I speak to you because my speaker also happened suddenly that the volume has been turned down???????????????????. you plug in the cable and if it sounds to its normal ...... this is crazy!! I could give a solution? thanks

Hello I am writing to see if I can provide a solution! It does not sound so loud my speaker and do not know why? when I connect by bluetooch not sound nearly but if I connect with the cable if its volume normally sounds? not to do! I need help! Thanks ........
