Re: Apple Lion Support?

Update causes MyTalk on my non Intel machine to cease operating.  "J" icon is no longer in menu bar.

When I install previous version of MyTalk (v1.0.40) it does load and the "J" icon is again in the menu bar.  Unfortunately the MyTalk in the browser window will not recognize the attached ICON and states that I should download the new update.  Note: "J" icon does change from grey to back when ICON is plugged into USB.  Need a solution to this.

Re: Apple Lion Support?

JawboneDavid

I have installed the MyTALK Update and still I am unable to use the 2007 iMac w/Lion to Skype.

I used to connect via BT System Preferences with the JawBone & it would ask use as Mono/Stereo device but now it just ask use as Audio Device.

When I try to do a Skype Test Call I can hear the request to test record a call but my audio does not record whether I have it set in Skype Preferences as Icon Stereo Device or just Icon Device.

I too am miffed that since Lion was announced and all the Developer Previews and Gold Master's that between Apple & JawBone, you guys could not get your BT act together by launch.

Now the JawBone Updater appears to be a bust also.

Lot of money I paid for a BlueTooth paperweight and a new OS that doesn't connect!

Re: Apple Lion Support?

[ Edited ]

Hello guys,

I have OS X Lion.

I've just downloaded the recent Jawbone updater for Lion from mytalk.jawbone.com but nothing happens when Jambox is plugged to my Macbook Pro (2010) via USB.

The gray J is still gray and never turned black ........... it seems not recognizing the device.

Any suggestion ?

Tks in advance.

Peppo

P.S. How to turn the Jambox off ?

Re: Apple Lion Support?

Sorry, my mistake to turn off the device.

Update done, but it looks less simple than is supposed to be to turn off the Jambox ............. button respond from time to time.

Any advice ?

Re: Apple Lion Support?

Hi all-

David here from Jawbone.  I'm seeing a few different issues, and will try to respond to them all:

1) Peppo - on the Jambox getting recognized, looks like you figured out you need to switch off the Jambox.  It should be pretty simple (just lower the toggle switch on the side to its bottom-most position).  The user interface should be very similar after you get the update.  The new features (e.g. silent power-on and power-off) dont' replace the original UI. If you need additional help or something else is happening let me know and we can follow up separately.

2) On getting your device to work with Skype Bluetooth: I've suggested this on a few other threads, but I'd always start by making sure your phone or other paired devices are not stealing away the Jawbone's connection.  You can do this by turning off Bluetooth temporarily on those devices.

If that doesn't remedy your problem, I'd recommend re-pairing your Jawbone with your Mac [Go to Mac's Bluetooth 'Open Bluetooth Preferences' menu and remove your Jawbone device from the list (hit the minus sign button).  Then put your device in pairing mode (switch off, hold down the talk button, switch on, then release the talk button after 2 seconds).  Then add your device (click the plus sign button) and follow directions.  You may need to select 'Use as Audio Device' from your Bluetooth menu.]

Before you attempt to use Skype, test to make sure your device is indeed connected properly. E.g. play some audio through your device by pressing the volume button's on your Mac's keyboard.  If you hear the blip sounds through your Jawbone, you know the issue is Skype not routing the audio properly.

You can troubleshoot this by making sure you've selected your Jawbone as your desired Input and Output device within Skype's audio preferences.  Sometimes the Skype app won't automatically choose your default audio devices.

3) To the person who was trying to use MyTALK with the non-Intel based Mac: sorry, we're not supporting these devices at this time.

Hi David,

tks for the answer.

You were right, I need to switch off the device and I did it, at last !! So the update has been done very easily.

The main problem at this point is another though .... lowering and slide the toggle to his bottom most position the jambox remains ON, no sound at all and NO turn OFF.

I mean, I have to make it several times before it succeds but sometimes I'm unable to make it, it just remains ON.

I've also chatted with Lon @ Jawbone customer care and he suggested me to bring it back to the store and have it replaced since I've just bought it 10 days ago.

Any additional suggestion ?

Tks in advance.

Re: Apple Lion Support?

I have unpaired JawBone from my iPhone and turned off BT and removed from favorites and deleted from BT devices

I have unpaired JawBone Icon from my iPad-2 and turned off BT and removed from favorites and deleted from BT devices

I have unpaired JawBone Icon from my MacBook Pro and turned off BT and removed from favorites and deleted from BT devices

I have unpaired JawBone Icon from my iMac [2007] and removed from favorites and deleted from BT devices turned off BT.

I restarted iMac...paired JawBone Icon and selected it in sound preferences items.

Same terrible audio in/audio out with iChat/FaceTime/PhotoBooth/Skype.

Let's stop blaming applications and start working on a solution from Apple & JawBone leaning towards a Lion BT audio incompatability.

When you used to activate JawBone Icon in Snow Leopard BT interface, you were asked "Use as Audio Device Mono" or "Use as Audio Device Stereo"

The only option now is "Use as Audio Device" even when A2DP settings are enabled.

Come on folks...Lion was introduced months ago and production model was available three weeks ago.

The JawBone Lion updater was supposed to do what?

JawBoneDavid

Are you out there?

What was the JawBone update supposed to do.

The problem seems to be with Lion OS & BT devices talking with each other.

Can you clear this up?

Thks
