MYTALK FIND ANSWERS QUICKLY! |

I don't understand how to get Voice Commands to work with my Galaxy S2. I have it installed on my Era but nothing happens on my phone when I try a command. I see in the Mytalk instructions it says "With Voice Actions (or a similar application) enabled as the default application for the press and hold action on Bluetooth® headsets" - how does one set the default BT application?

To answer your question, the BT app is set using MyTalk (with your BT headset synced to the computer). Select the app you want to use under "DialApps", then sync. This becomes the app that is used when you push the Talk button for 2 seconds on your headset.
However, I'm wondering if, like me, the problem you're having is that even with "Voice Control" set as the DialApp, pushing the button on my Icon will instead launch "Voice Dialer" instead of "Voice Search" on my Evo 4G. The Voice Dialer app will not allow you to issue commands other than "Call <name/number".

I've tried both Voice Dial and Voice Control and as far as I know, setup correctly via Mytalk. However neither results in ANY action taken on the Galaxy S2 LTE (from Rogers, similar to the Skyrocket).

Hi Everyone,
This behavior may vary depending on the phone, so you may or may not be able to modify the default behavior of your phone. For more information about the specific capabilities your phone has, you should refer to your phone’s user guide or website.

I'm seeing the same issue.
regardless which app I installed.. voice dialer is what get's triggered.
Jaimie...is a bit odd...that evo 3d screenshot you posted, when you announced this, seems to still show the same thing I'm seeing...where you can pick the voice dialer or vlingo, which I've installed.
bug that's most certainly not voice actions...if you guys could get that to actually work...that would be incredible...
the link on that same post though points to the google voice actions page, which is not what this is enabling...least not for me.
but as of now...doesn't matter which of the jawbone voice dialing apps you have installed...at least on my era connected to teh HTC sensation...you get the same limited options...none of which are the very nice voice actions built into android.

here is one way i found on android forums it wont get it to listen through bt but will let the button launch the voice actions app ..
{{I found an app that can be set up to do this task. It is called "Bluetooth Launch", and once you've installed and opened it, you will see a big list of possible things to launch with the bluetooth button.
To get it to open Voice Search, I clicked the Voice Search drop-down, then checked the different options to see which one does the right thing. I'm not sure if it is the same between phones, but on the Nexus S, it was the option that says: com.google.android.voicesearch.RecognitionActivity
}}
