I have read so many Forum comments on this but seems no answers.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit SP1, have tried Internet Browsers - Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 9 & Firefox 5 with Internet Explorer 9 my preferred choice.
I have downloaded the Jawbone Updater with each Internet Browser and each time;
Every time I plug my Jawbone Icon into my laptop I get the error message "USB device not recognised"
The USB port shows it as an "Unknown Device"
When the "Unknown Device" is selected it states "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
I have then attempted to "Change settings" Driver Tab, "Update Driver" "Search automatically for updated driver software" but it returns that I have the most up to date drivers installed!!!
Please can someone help as although I am not Bill Gates I do have a little IT common sense but this is really annoying me!!
HELP!

You're not the only one having the same problem. I have the same issue too.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1.
My Icon is able to charge but my computer will not recognize the device. I've tried using "My Talk" to detect the device but was unsuccessful. I've also tried the Jawbone Updater but no luck. I would say 4 months ago was the last time i was able to connect my Icon to my desktop with no issues.
I am still able to use it with my iPhone 4 and my Samsung with no problems.
Someone please help.
Thanks in advance.

I'm a little bit confused by what you wrote. What do you mean you used "My Talk" to detect the device & then used the Jawbone Updater? The Jawbone Updater is the desktop software that acts as a bridge between the device & the website. You cannot use the website without it.
Am I understanding correctly that when you run the Jawbone Updater & have the device plugged in, the icon remains grey?
Can you please try clearing out your device drivers on Windows & then re-installing the updater. To clean the drivers, you can use the USBDeview utility (32-bit version or the 64-bit version depending on your machine).
1. Disconnect all Jawbone devices from your machine.
2. Download the appropriate USBDeview package for your machine (if you need help finding which Windows you are running, refer to this Microsoft article).
3. Run USBDeview (on Windows Vista & Windows 7, you'll need to right click on the exe & select "Run as administrator")
4. In Options, make sure "Display disconnected devices" is selected
5. There should be a column called "VendorID". Click on it so that all the items are sorted by it.
6. Select all devices that are listed as 1f6f (you should be able to click the first device, hold shift, & then click the last)
7. Right click & hit uninstall selected devices.
Now run the installer for the updater. After it's done, plug in your devices.
Let me know if this does not resolve the issue for you.

I have also tried my Jawbone Icon in my old Desktop home machine, 3 different Desktop machines at work all using different operating systems and my brand new Windows 7 Desktop machine at work which was installed yesterday - but all say USB device not recognised.
I also tried the USBDeview you advised but my machine did not list any 1f6f
I hope you can help................

Hi...
Hmm.. Seems im not alone... Please tell me your loyal customers (proud owner of a JAMBOX + JAWBONE ICON + very soon a Jawbone Era) can update their fancy jawbone products on Windows 7. Just got my Lenovo z570 and everything is perfect except for the jawbone updater,
I downloaded the updater, but Windows 7 cannot recognize the jawbone icon.. I hope jawbone doesnt tell me to break out my old laptop (xp) just to update my unit.
Thanks: Almost disappointed Jawbone fan..
