Jawbone Era Freezing at 4%

Trying to update my Jawbone Era on MyTalk. After trying numerous computers both Windows and Mac (Windows 7, Windows XP and Mac OSX Snow Leopard and Lion). I've reset the device (Holding the button while plugging into a power outlet) numerous times, but I have not been able to pass 4% on the sync. Also, I've left the era connected for up to 2 hours trying to update without success. I have tried this on systems with no Anti-Virus or Firewalls enabled and with to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my Jawbone is acting up and I'm hoping the update will correct the random disconnects from my phone.

Re: Jawbone Era Freezing at 4%

I am having the same issues..

When it hits 4% my Windows connectivity wizard goes CRAZY.  It just starts making that unconnect and connect sound over and over..

I have tried multiple browsers, reboots, cache clearing, Uninstalls/Reinstalls, and waiting for the perfect moon to star alignment and still the same thing.

I am using the Jawbone Updater 1.6.4 (Dec 7 2011 10:23:35)

Please Advise!!!!

Re: Jawbone Era Freezing at 4%

Alright so I had the same issue for like 2 hours did all the same stuff you guys did.

I finally got it to work here was my genius process lol

1. Had the headset plugged in (power switch off)

2. Had the site up ready to click the sync button

3. Hit the sync button and as soon as it made the disconnecting sound I quickly unplugged it (the one connecting to the headset not the computer side) and plugged it instantly back in. This seemed to be the only way to get it to load.

It seems once it "hangs" itself and freezes up it doesnt work, but if you can time it right magic will happen. ( I must say not a huge fan I had to jump through hoops to get this 120 dollar headset to work properly)

Re: Jawbone Era Freezing at 4%

Although I can find this issue many times in the forums I cannot find a solution.  Any solutions for this?  I am having trouble with this issue over 3 months after suge82x. Ouch. :-(

Orangeman you are completely right about getting it right when it beeps in and out.. Also having it turned off.  disconnect as you said from the headset not computer.  when it beeps out unplug just before it beeps again do it.  Might have to do it again when it hangs again at 51%.

Re: Jawbone Era Freezing at 4%

seems like a connectivity issue for sure.. after the 51% then it rolls through at 68% still going through 70%,72,73,74.. into the 80tys, now 90tys not having to connect again.

Re: Jawbone Era Freezing at 4%

although right after 96% when it goes in and out it comes to finally step asking you to disconnect.  I have to say the way this connector is and having to connect and disconnect this is going to break real quick.

I'm having the exat same problems here. UNBELIEVABLE that a headset so expensive has such basic problems. Is there no solution for this?

Re: Jawbone Era Freezing at 4%

got it to update moving it to a USB 2.0 and disabling the shakes in the advanced settings section... don't know exactly which of these made a difference (or if any), but updating is done.

I do hope that the headset is worth the trouble, since I feel like a beta tester (guinea pig) for the software
