Beware of OEM and Bulk package Jawbones [ Edited ]

Hey all

I am looking at getting aJawbone prime, iv seen some on ebay they are getting sold as OEM (no retail packing)

first do you guys think these are fakes? knock offs?

has anyone here bought one from ebay?

I just received my Jawbone this way. I got a Jawbone 2 from an ebay dealer. I bought it last week and it arrived today via USPS without any packaging or extra ear loops. I got a charger, wall adapter, ear bud, ear hook, and the unit itself. After spending a few minutes figuring out how to put it into pairing mode, I found that many people are having trouble with the talk button responding at all. I proceeded to take the plastic cover off of the product to reveal the two buttons. After pressing these, I got it into pairing mode and paired it with my 3gs. 

Works well so far...

1. Does Jawbone PRIME have OEM Version for sell? as I found some site even sell Jawbone PRIME covers set in colors

2. Does Bulk Package offer at places like amazon.com and tigerdirect.com are from authorized channels?

Please share with me if you have any information on this...

Aliph does not sell the Jawbone in an OEM version or in bulk packaging.  Similarly, Aliph does not sell Jawbone covers by themselves or sets of colored covers.  Aliph cannot confirm the authenticity or guarantee the quality of products sold by unauthorized channels. 

To ensure you are getting an authentic headset covered by the full manufacturer's warranty, make sure you purchase from one of our authorized retailers.  A list of authorized North American retailers can be found here: http://us.jawbone.com/retailers.aspx.

Hi Laurel, The link to Authorized Dealers does not work. Is TigerDirect an authorized dealer? Because I purchased my jawbone through them back in January, and now it fell apart as I was putting it into my ear. The nub that holds the earloop just came off as I was simply adjusting it. Here is the page on Tiger: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3748527 Now they are saying it only has a 3-month warranty? So which is it? 12 months or 3? If TigerDirect is not an authorized dealer, then you need to get them stop selling your product. If the warranty will not be honored to fix my jawbone, then I will not be buying another one ever again. Nor will I ever purchase one for my wife or kids. There was no misuse (I only use it in my car, I don't carry mine around in my pocket as I have read other guys do). But if it will not be serviced, there are plenty of competitors that are as good for my needs, for less money. Pesto

Look, it's a buyer beware world out there. Check your reseller's return policy before purchasing. If something doesn't look right when you receive your product, you know you can return it.
