Hello,
It just arrived - a new Jawbone 2 bought from Ebay.
But I'm dazzled - how to get it into pairing mode, when I'm not able to locate the button A?
There is no button A click like with Talk button B, there is no movement of decorative cover in the end where are loader contacts and the button A is expected to be.
All I'm able to obtain, is that finally the unit goes into mode when led blinks shortly white and red with intervals between white and red of 10 seconds and remains in this mode forever, which I guess means it isn't in pairing mode which is expected to stop in a 2-3 minutes. And when in this mode no phone isn't able to discover any new BT units. I have tried with Nokia E70 and Nokia 6290, which have worked normally with other manufacturers BT headsets. Finally I did also a reset to Jawbone but no change.
Any ideas, is it common that users can't locate button B? Are there any fake units, so that it may be fake?
I'm an electronic, should I need to try to open unit and try to find out the truth what's in there?
The unit is expected to be new and breaking in there may avoid warranty...

Well it's unbelievable, but I removed the cover and button exists and now I'm able to pair it with my Nokia.
But the mystery is only half solved, as there is not any good explanation, why any manufacturer should hide the button A with hard plastic cover, which avoids functioning of button A, while the manual tells other story.
So the question still remains, is it fake?
I'll test later it's full functionality and post a feedback here.
But don't expect too much, while button A is unaccessible there is no Noise assassin button, no call reject button, no change the volume button and finally .... when reading the manual - THERE IS NO VOICE DIALING! Here I stop reading manual, without voice dialing the unit is as dead to me as it was when not paired with phone.
Does anyone can provide any suggestions, what is going one?

Seller claims that taking a phone call to Jawbone support helped her to understood how to use button A ...
So I took once again an hour to play with the unit, but no success, when covered there is no beep or click from button A.
Finally I opened the unit once again, after all my attempts with covered units had totally failed.
Even when uncovered the button A doesn't function reliably. Activating voice dialing is possible only occasionally.
1. the unit inside plastic case has room to move approx 1 mm and moves away when button is pressed.
2. when cover is opened and the unit movement doesn't interrupt - seems like the micro switch itself doesn't work each time when pressed, whether it's faulty or there is some other electronics design flaw.
But when finally uncovered unit voice dialing mode activation succeeds, this function works normally.
This forum earlier thread of Bulk and OEM units indicates, that the after moving Jawbone assembling to China, the quality has dropped drastically or there are details stolen from factory in China and assembled unprofessionally by 3rd party and sold illegally through retailers worldwide.
The unit I received from Ebay, arrived full retail packaged and I wouldn't name it a bulk nor OEM as it plastic case looks precisely like might look original in a plastic jewel case. It has a white bar code label Jawbone II Black with a number on the box - 8 12172 01030 and other smaller sticker visible under the box 740-00027 N AMER (actually it's printed onto the inner black carton box).
There is lot of more thoughts about this case but right now I have my own work to do - ![]()

Thank you so much for your feedback. It sounds like the unit you purchased may be faulty, as you should feel a distinct CLICK when you press the sheild where the button is located. If you are unable to get the button to click, and are unable to use all the functionality of the NoiseAssassin button, please give us a call and we will do our best to help you out! 1-800-JAWBONE.
