Using with Windows 7 for Unified Communications?

I'd love to pair my Prime with Windows 7 (I paired it, but no driver loaded) to use it as a headset for Office Comminicator and Unified Communications.  Are there are Windows drivers for the Jawbone devices?  Anything in the works?

Currently the Jawbone is designed to work with mobile phones, not with Unified Communications.  That is a great idea though, and we will definitely look into it.

Best,

Laurel

Just go to http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php and install the drivers... worked for me with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Regards, Jan

Typically with Windows you don't need a driver for a Bluetooth headset. But you will need drivers for your built-in bluetooth interface (or if you have a USB Bluetooth dongle).  So check your PC's Bluetooth interface and get an updated drivers for Windows 7.

I forgot to add, your PC's bluetooth drivers must support Audio. Most of the times, they only support "file transfers"

Hey bud,

I tried this very technique but all I got was this crappy error.  I'm also using a Logitech BT kb/mouse..  any tips?

I was curious if anyone got this working on Windows 7 or if Aliph was planning on releasing a device driver for the Jawbone Prime. I tried the Broadcom update, but for me it just hangs on the "Validate Bluetooth Device" stage.

PC manufacturers don't always use Broadcom. The other leading supplier for laptops is CSR. I would recommend installing BlueSoleil (http://www.ivtcorporation.com/download/BlueSoleil_Download.php) because you get all the audio features without having to worry about which chip is under the hood.

Re: Using with Windows 7 for Unified Communications?

Has anyone got the Prime working on windows 7? Ive installed the broadcom drivers and my "new jawbone" works but the prime still isnt working correctly. Its irritating that a premium electronics manufactuer would not provide support for these things. Using this for Ventrilo and Skype communication would be amazing. The "new" model is nice but the prime is so much louder and clearer.

If anyone has been able to make the Prime work, Please let me know what you did, I'm still running rc7100 for another week until release.

If Aliph is working on a solution I'd love to hear it.

Re: Using with Windows 7 for Unified Communications?

using it on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit & Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit, working well on both my laptops.

first laptop -> Acer Ferrari, i upgraded my BT using the above broadcom link

second laptop -> Thinkpad X61, removed MS BT Drivers and install old Vista BT Drivers from thinkpad/levono website.

Works well with my Skype, Office communicator & others.
