DodgeV83,
Is the app for iOS a for-pay app? The revenue models for the UP is related to the sales of the UP and caps, not apps.
A relevent number would the amount of 3rd party devices, like bluetooth headsets, purchased by iOS or Android users,

Exactly my point, the sales figures of for-pay apps aren't relevent.

What amazing is that this device isn't bluetooth. I will be holding out for Android AND bluetooth.

God I REALLY hope they make the UP available for the Android. I really much prefer the Android OS as opposed to iOS5, and I wouldn't switch phones just to get this, but I am very much so interested in incorporating the UP apart of my life. Hopefully they develop something soon.

DodgeV83 wrote:Sorry Ryan, but if you're going to use that logic, then the same would apply to Android's 190 million number. Unfortunately, this affects Android's numbers much more severely than iOS for a few reasons:
- A large portion of Android's number consists of devices like the Kindle Fire, devices which have been modified by the manufacturer in such a way that the Jawbone UP app can not be installed, rendering it incompatible.
- As mentioned earlier, Android devices are not as well supported as iOS devices. The HTC Rezound, released just now, comes with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), an OS that was released in 2010. The latest version of Android is 4.0. iOS devices, on the other hand, are supported for years. You bring up the iPhone 1g, but that was released almost 4.5 years ago, how many Android devices do you think won't be on a version current enough to run the Android Jawbone UP app?

Unfortunately, my third Jawbone UP just died on me, so I'm getting a refund and won't be visiting the forum anymore. It was fun debating with you guys
Good luck with your UP!
^^I removed the bias chart that was attached to this post, since I'm tired of looking at skewed data that says "Apple is number one" because it's not. Up to date data shows they are getting blown out of the water when it compares to the Android OS. It just seems that once some one buys anything with an Apple symbol on it, they are instantly a tech guru who won't admit there is anything better in the world than their shiny new iPhone. With that said...
There was no debating with this Apple Fan Boy, there's absolutely no reason why they shouldn't of had an App for the Android OS yet. Just the fact that it's on MORE devices than "Cell Phones" would be even more of a reason to go with a cross-platform option, correct?
Enough with the Apples vs Androids, are we ever going to get a valid answer as to "if" or "when" this app will ever come out for the Android!?

Me too for Android.
I have the JamBox, the Era and I've had the Icon and others. I bought my iPhone 3GS on a three year plan and bought my first Android a year later (full retail price), deleted iTunes and QuickTime and never looked back. Don't care for Apple's policies ;-)
I'm really not happy there is no Andoid app. Get crackin'
