Thanks Laurel,
I have a V1 jawbone and heard so many complaints that people couldn't hear me when I spoke that I stopped using it (maybe I should put it on e-bay as some on this forum seem to prefer it!). Generally this has been my experience - like me, most of my colleagues are very attracted to an untethered, well-packaged solution, but as we conduct business on our phones, we absolutely need the audio to be as good as possible. I frankly have reverted to a wired headset. I was hoping that the general consensus on this site would be that V2 has substantially better performance, but it would seem that those who feel the need to comment, are not overwhelmingly positive... Does Jawbone have a try-and-buy policy? I'll gladly try it, but if it doesn't work for me, I want to be able to send it back easily. (incidentally, I also find the V1 earloops to be very fragile).

As an early adopter I believe the Jawbone features were a bit oversold. The power connect head piece came apart and was replaced. Ever try to store the Jawbone. No case available so ended up breaking the ear loop. The Jawbone ear buds were very difficult to fit so I purchased the Jabra gel ear buds. They worked but required constant wiping; otherwise would slip out of the ear canal. I was just about to abandon the unit when I tried one of the Jawbone ear buds and standard loop again. Surprise. It finally fit. Frankly, after all the effort I left it on the auto console and seldom use it.
The noise cancelling feature works sporatically. Not impressed. The bark was certainly louder than the bite! Glad there is a Jawbone forum. At least we all can huddle and bitch about our experiences. Lastly, CS was good earlier but that too has deteoriated. Too bad. I surely thought this product was going to be a hands-down winner.

I've owned both 1st and 2nd gen JB. I read about the custom earpieces from pilotstuff.com and had one made for my JB1, then JB2. Phenomenal fit, and I even have to turn the volume down at times. Tight, doesn't move, keeps the set touching my face, just like a rockstar on stage. Perfect sound.
I will admit that some people say I don't have the greatest sound but, I hear so many others that are worse, I'm satisfied with my JB2 right now.
I had a bad switch on the original JB2 I bought, so they swapped it for my in days. Great service, prompt, no complaints.
I've owned noise-cancellation headsets before and this is as good as I've had. Now, if there was another company to come out with a different, better headset, I might try it. But, until then, I'm sold on the JB2.

My only complaint on the switch is that it will turn on in my pocket, then when a call comes in, if I have the JB2 in my pocket, the caller winds up talking to the inside of my pocket. The switch is waaaaay to sensitive. Needs to be less sensitive to turning on.

I had my custom piece for my JB 1 in a week. Had the molding kit in a couple days (they will overnight if you pay extra), and once sent off, I had the earpiece in a week.
I needed one for my JB2. They still had my mold a year later, they took my order over the phone and I had the new one for my JB2 in a week.
Pilotstuff (Averysound.com too) makes these for pilots, security gaurds, musicians and anyone who need these custom pieces. They are the greatrest to work with. The sale guy even remembered me from the year before.

I have both the original Jawbone and the newer Assassin. Personally, I think they both suck but in different ways. The original was pretty good sound quality and isn't near as crappy as the Assassin. It was a bit clunky and big in size but it worked pretty well most of the time. Big negative is the earloops that broke all the time or would bend out of shape so the next time you put the earpiece on it flopped around on your ear and wouldn't stay fitting correctly. The Assassin is beyond bad in its design. I thought it would be awesome since it was half the size, sleek design and supposedly better sound quality. That could not be further from the truth. I've had soooooo many people say I sound like I'm underwater when I'm talking on it. I know why they say that. It's because the frickin nipple has to be touching your cheek. Problem is that the design is so crappy that then nipple isn't really long enough to keep touching your cheek at all times. I have high cheek bones which it apparently isn't designed for. If you have a big round head like a basketball maybe it would be a good design. The earloops suck and they don't provide you enough of them. Could they be a little more fragile? I mean these **bleep** things break if you look at them wrong. I will NEVER buy another Jawbone product again and I urge anyone who is considering it to find a different bluetooth headset to purchase. Your idea to start this forum is great. Probably not for your business, but great for people who purchased one of your sub par devices so they can expose your piece of crap products that they are. Go back to the drawing board, design something that works worth a sh*t and then send every disgruntled customer on this forum one along with an apology for having such a poorly designed and overpriced Assassin.

I liked my jb so much i got one for my wife. I have a fat face and she has a very thin and sexy face. Mine worked perfectly. Hers didn't. I figured out it was because the ear loop wasn't sprung so the white nub wasn't touching her face. Simple solution: I took a pair of pliars and bent the earloop to spring it. Problem solved, and another happy customer. I recommend you try the same.

Agree. This product had a lot of potential and missed the mark completely.

You are the minority if you have had a good experience... read all the posts. I am happy for you that you have not gone through the frustration of the rest of us. Additionally, Jawbone/ Aliph (secretly) admits that they need to upgrade the firmware of the Jawbone II as it doesn't work with Windows Mobile 6.1... but they blame it on Microsoft... Then you try to get it replaced (I too am on my second Jawbone as I thought the II was better than the I)... you have to go through a hassle with them and they treat you like a piece of crap! Where has customer service gone in America??! Apparently, it is not a concern for Aliph, the parent company of Jawbone.
