Help Please. Default volume is too low and lots of static.

Good morning.  This is my third Jawbone and have been very happy with them.

This is a new Jawbone Prime.

When I first turn it on and it connects to my Blackberry it always defaults to volume off.  None of my other Jawbones would do this and I need to know how to fix it.

One quarter of the time it also seems have static when I put my phone on my hip in its holster.  If I pick the phone up around my head it goes away.  Very strange.

Any help would be great.  Thanks Mark.

I have the same issue with Volume.  Turn on the Jawbone Prime, the volume goes all the way to 0.

Re: Help Please. Default volume is too low and lots of static.

Try resetting your headset, that should help solve the problem of the volume defaulting to off.

To reset your PRIME:

  1. Press and hold down the Talk Button on the Jawbone. (It does not matter whether the headset is on or off.)

  2. Connect the Jawbone to the USB charger cable. (The cable needs to be plugged into an active USB port or to an electrical outlet via the Wall Charger unit.)
  3. Release the Talk Button when the LED turns solid Red.
  4. Disconnect the Jawbone from the USB charger cable.

To avoid static, try to keep the headset on the same side of your body as the hip holster where you keep your blackberry.

If you try both of these things and you are still having trouble, please give us a call so we can walk you through some more troubleshooting. 1-800-JAWBONE

Thanks!

Yeah, I have the same issue. I'm going to try the steps above, but do you realize that it's nearly physically impossible to follow the steps you listed above. I've tried, and it takes literally dozens of tries to pull it off. Why? Because the way you designed the Jawbone makes it so when you push one button the other on lifts. So it's literally almost impossible to press both at once, especially for an extended period of time. Add that trying to connect to a charger while holding buttons, and you're asking for a superhuman feet. I'll give this a try when I have a spare hour or two to go insane trying to pull that sleight of hand off.

If you hold the headset in one hand, with one finger on one button, and your thumb on the other, it makes it much easier to do a reset.  See this picture for how we are able to easily reset the headset:

This method doesn't appear to work. My issue is that the volume is always a minium. The only way I can change the volume is after a call is connected and I press the assassin button. However, it always goes back to low volume when I restart the bluetooth at a later date.

Re: Help Please. Default volume is too low and lots of static.

Why would I buy a new Jawbone?

Yesterday my original died I cannot pair with my I-Phone anymore. Every e site I read horror stories about the new JB

Also I cannot begin to tell you how many ear loops have broken and how many rubber pieces that go into your ear fall off as they get loose.

This is the typical outcome of a great product that rushed to market with little thought on finishing touches!

Today I will find a second best in reception quality but at least it will stay on my ear and I can hear folks and they can hear me after all most my calls are in non windy places.

Bye Bye!
